Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Episode Twenty One

As this episode sort of deals with the aftermath of episode nineteen, I thought it was interesting that Roy, Ed, Hawkeye, Al and Havoc are starting to possible insight weather or not the Furhrer President may be connected to the homunculus. When I was watching the Havoc, Roy and Lust action scene from episode nineteen, I thought that this series lacked realistic injuries, but I didn’t expect Havoc to be paralyzed due to his injuries from the battle. Though I liked the idea of Roy giving people under his command that he can trust ‘vacations’ or ‘extended vacations’ to forward his goal of revealing the truth about the homunculus, and helping Havoc recover from his injury.

I thought that the character development between Havoc, Roy and Hawkeye about Roy being a softy about caring for his underling, instead of using them as chess pieces, was really interesting. As Scar made is reappearance in this episode, I thought that seeing Ed and Al performing a transmutation circle without using chalk, reminded me of the scene n the FMA Movie, where Ed and Al perform a similar move together.

Overall, I thought that this episode was better then expected, though as the death count in this series so far has been pretty low, hopefully some characters dying soon, will had some serious spice to FMA: Brotherhood, despite this episode features some funny SD (super deformed) moments.

Episode Rating: A-
