As I haven’t seen the Toshokan Sensou TV series, I pretty much watching this blind, which has its pro’s and con’s. The episode starts off with a pervert getting caught in the library, and attacking a girl/woman with a speech and hearing disability or not. I thought that the way that Instructor Komaki handled the offernder was really cool.

As the girl that was rescued was Marie, the episode goes into detail that Marie and Komaki were an item when they were younger, but soon drifted apart, and then Marie experienced her hearing loss. After the episode goes through Marie’s situation, the First Musashino Library gets unexpected visitor in the form of an inspector, for invasion of privacy, which gets the staff of the First Musashino Library all hot under the collar.

I thought how this episode played out and got resolved was really interesting, and found that despite this special not being action packed, the drama and character development that occurs in this special is well worth the time. Overall, I won’t recommend this special for fans of action or are looking for something for a light time to pass the time, as this special raises some interesting elements the anime generally dislike to tell.
