Macross Frontier - Episode Five

This episode of Macross Frontier is a date centric episode, featuring Alto X Sheryl. As I have seen the original Macross series, I felt that this episode what of like the date episode where Hikaru has a date with Misa Hayse, but ends up meeting Minmay, and the date gets spoiled by the end of the episode end.

This episode also gives a little look into the some elements of how some of the Zendradi live on the Macross Galaxy. I thought that Ranka’s song in this episode was a little forced, though I understand is more of a plot element.

I thought that the animation in this episode was very good, and this episode makes it more interesting to see who Alto will be paired up with by the end of this episode.

Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle - Episode Fifteen

This episode of YUA FT is entitled ‘Super Shoot! Bokuto PD Blue’, this episode deals with the Bokuto police station dealing with a filmmaker (called Hiraki) that wants to make a film about the Bokuto police station, which shows events that never have been caught on camera.

As one would expect, the film crew aren’t as ethical as they project themselves to be, but this episode had all the elements that make this episode an entertaining YUA episode.

Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch - Episode Thirty Two

This episode of Code Geass I found was a very interesting episode, as it showed some character development for Lelouch. This episode also developed the relationship between C.C, Kallen and Princess Kaguya, how are often overlooked in terms of character development, as this episode is mainly about Lelouch’s rebellion.

Overall, I felt this episode was good, as having more character development certainly helps keep the audience keep interest in the characters of the show, and not keep it all to mecha action.

Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch - Episode Thirty One

This is episode of Code Geass brings back some members of the cast that appeared in the previous season of Code Geass, and if you have seen the previous episode of Code Geass, then, you will know which cast members I’m talking about.

The episode also drops some details about Lord Guilford, as he was once called the Vanguard of the Empire, and it seems that Guilford’s role has now changed in this series. As this episode of Code Geass is entitled Pacific Surprise Attack Operation, this episode mainly deals with the Black Knights or Zero trying to get Nunnaly back.

During the action in this episode we get to see the mass production Lancelot in action, and speaking of Lancelot, in this episode we all get to see Suzuka in Lancelot Conquista in action. This episode also sees the deployment of the Guren Kashoushiki, which should make the action scenes more exciting in future episodes.

I thought how this episode ended, should make future episodes of Code Geass interesting.

Macross Frontier - Episode Four

This episode of Macross Frontier has many Macross references in it that, if one has seen the original Macross series, it would bring a tear of joy to one’s eyes. Besides all the Macross references in this episode, this episode sees Alto taking down a Vajra by his own skill.

I’m interested to see how the Michel X Lieutenant Klan Klein will develop over the series, as IMO this paring reminds me of the Macross pairing Max X Maria.

Macross Frontier - Episode Three

This episode of Macross Frontier I felt is a sort of tribute to the episode where Minmay and Hikaru get lost inside the Macross Ship, in the original Macross series, or the episode where Hikaru and Misa spend some time together, due to getting in a wrong compartment, when the Macross ship transforms.

This episode IMO doesn’t have the same level of maturity that the original Macross series had, as this series IMO is aimed toward a much younger audience. This episode provides some fan service courtesy of Sheryl, and that this episode ends with Ranka coming out of her shell, and Alto starting his path as a SMS pilot.

Rose of Versailles - Episode Fourty

This final episode of Rose of Versailles IMO is one of the better ending episodes that I have watched, mainly due to how this episode is directed. I’m not going to spoil this episode, but as a whole I have found this series to be a joy to watch, despite myself taking some time to get through it.

One thing that I found a bit shocking about this episode, was that despite the sadness that occurred in this episode, that some characters of the series faced the chopping block, and died horrible deaths.

As a whole, I enjoyed the early ten or so episodes intriguing, but I found the episodes involving Jeanne, Nicolas and Rosalie the most engaging, mainly due to Jeanne’s personality. I thought that the Black Knight storyline was a setup to bring Oscar and Andre together, though I still feel it was a shame a episode was dedicated to them being happy as a couple. I felt that the last six episodes of the series were directed and handled well, and I would highly recommended this series to anyone looking for a anime series that has a good strong female lead, and good characterization.

Rose of Versailles - Episode Thirty Nine

As Andre got shot at the end of the previous episode, I thought that the narrator did a fine job of conveying the feeling and emotions that Oscar felt, when Oscar tried to save Andre’s life. Despite ten medical people coming forth to try and save Andre’s life in this episode, I felt that this episode handled Andre’s death well, with a short glimpse over the memories that Oscar and Andre shared.

As Bernard is part of the uprising occurring in France, the last half of this episode deals with an assault on the Bastille, to ensure the revolution of France is complete. During the assault at Bastille, the episode ends with Oscar getting wounded.

Overall, I felt that this episode was pretty mature in how it handled the events in this episode, and that Oscar will share the same fate as Andre, in the next episode.

Anime & Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle 18 May 2008 02:32 am

Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle - Episode Fourteen

As this episode of YUA:FT is entitled 2,0000 suspects, this episode deals with a hit and run accident and a bank robbery, where the suspects are hiding in the costume parade, and it’s up to the dynamic duo, I mean trio (including Chibi – the dog of the owner in the hit and run accident) to solve this case.

After watching this episode, I thought that this episode was just plain fun, despite the plot of this episode being rather thin. Despite some people may overlook this show, if you’re a YUA fan, then IMO this series provides some quality entertainment, that is aimed at the old school anime fan.

Anime & Persona - Trinity Soul - 13 May 2008 04:57 am

Persona - Trinity Soul - Episode Sixteen

This episode of Persona is interesting in that, this episode contained Sanada Akihiko speaking to Shin, and his fellow class mates that have Persona’s also, about fighting against the Marebito group.

This episode was interesting in that it allowed the view to see a little into Yamazaki Mayari social life. The most important interesting development that occurs in this episode is that this episode allowed the viewer to see Jun’s Persona.

As this show IMO is meant to be a show that lives up to Production’s IG reputation/standard, I’m still not quite sure what to make of this show, as I like the character designs, story concept and music, but I have found out so far that the pacing of the series, is testing my patience.

As I have committed myself to this series, I will continue with this series till the end, though I’m hoping the upcoming episodes will be more engaging, then the previous couple of episodes.
