Persona - Trinity Soul - Episode Four

This episode of Persona –Trinity Soul- is slower in pace compared to the previous episode, but this episode gives the viewer the background of the three brothers. This episode has Jun investigating the studio room in the house, and in the studio they find some art that Shin made in elementary school. While the two brothers enjoy each other’s company, things get interesting on a police front with some other detectives trying to solve the truth behind the Reverse incidents.

As this episode that off with some brotherly love, there’s some more of it, as Shin and Jun have a look at their family photo album. During that time Jun finds a book entitled ‘Whale feathers’ that their parents wrote. When Itou comes home, there’s tension in the house, we Itou says that Jun and Shin shouldn’t have come back.

When Jun talks a long walk during that night, things become interesting as a mysterious girl/woman appears in front of Shin. I was surprised about Jun appeared as a girl in front of Shin and Itou in this episode, though I betting that Jun’s latent powers have awaken after the events of this episode.

Besides this episode giving some depth to the background surrounding Jun, Shin and Itou, I really enjoyed the opera like music that graced this episode.

La Corda D’Oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Eleven

This episode starts off with the evening following the second selection, with Hino, and Fuyuumi going over to Amou’s house, and having a small all girl celebration. Before school starts again for the musical student’s there a cute Shimizu scene for all the Shimizu fans out there. I really liked the sequence where we got to see all the outfits that Shimizu tried on before, selecting his outfit for the second selection. The result of the second selection is as follows:

1st Place: Tsuchiura Ryoutarou ‘Fantasie-Impromptu’
2nd Place: Hino Kahoko ‘Canon’
3rd Place: Hihara Kazuki ‘Auf Flugen des Gesanges’
4th Place: Yunoki Azuma ‘Medidation from Thasis’
5th Place: Shimizu Keiichi ‘Le Cygne’
6th Place: Fuyuumi Shouko ‘Romance’
7th Place: Tsukimori Len ‘Chaconne’

In this episode we get to see Tsuchiura talk with Shimizu, and among the two talking to each other, Tsuchiura thinks talking to Shimizu is like talking to an alien. This conversation happens when Hino is sleeping cutely on a table.

After Hino wakes up, she talks with Hihara, and he is depressed because he can’t think of a present to give his big brother. Just as Hihara and Hino walk out the school grounds, they meet up with Yunoki, and the three decided all together to shop for Hihara’s elder brother’s present. There’s lots of antics and cuteness while the three shop for Hihara’s present for his elder brother.

While shopping we learn that Yunoki has a younger sister (named Miyabi), and Hino learns how Hihara and Yunoki meets each other. If you’re a Yunoki x Hino fan, you’ll enjoy the last few minutes of this episode.

This episode of La Corda d’Oro ~Primo Passo~ seemed to be an episode about the relationships between the cast members, and learning a bit more about the family’s of the cast members also.

Anime & Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle 27 Jan 2008 12:04 am

Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle - Episode Twelve

This episode is a simple episode where it features the Criminal Affairs Division vs. the Traffic Division in a game of baseball. This game of baseball came about due to Natsumi opening her big mouth, and the thirty year legacy of losing in Go to a person in the Criminal Affairs Division.

I was surprised that this episode contained yet another insert song, as there as been a fair few insert songs in this series so far. Also in this episode the YUA crew gets to wear a nice light blue uniform, instead of their white uniform. As the game of baseball is playing out, two characters from the original series of Your Under Arrest make a cameo appearance in this episode.

If one hasn’t seen the first season of Your Under Arrest, then you will probably not be familiar with the two characters that appear near the end of this episode, but it won’t stop one from enjoying this episode.

Rose of Versailles - Episode Twenty Nine

After the events after the previous episode, Oscar requests a transfer to a more heavily-duty post as a military officer. Oscar’s new position is to be the commanding officer of the French Guards Company B. Before transferring to her new position, Oscar nominates Geroodere as her successor to her current position.

Before Oscar transfers to her new position her thinks of her unrequited love for Fersen, and Andre’s for hers. During this episode Andre goes on a drinking binge, and meets the crippled musical performer that forecast some of the events in this episode. While on Andre’s drinking spree, he meets up with some of the French guards that Oscar is to be in charge of, and asks to join them. The person in charge of this company in the barracks seems to be Alain, and the troops review goes disaster wrong, as none of them turn up to it besides Andre.

The reason why the officers didn’t turn up is because they simple didn’t want to be ordered around by a woman. After Oscar beats one of Alain’s appointed troops to fight Oscar, the troops perform the review of the troops as appointed, and after the review Oscar returns home, and learns that Fersen asked her father if he could marry Oscar.

I thought that this episode added another layer to Andre’s and Oscar’s relationship, as Oscar still doesn’t see Andre as her partner in life. It will be interesting to see if Oscar will marry Fersen, as she does like/love him, it’s just a matter if Oscar will fellow her feelings and thought’s that she has been hiding when the two meet at the ball, a few episodes a go. Regarding Oscar’s new job, it will be interesting to see how she will handle the troops that don’t respect her, as a commanding officer.

Persona -Trinity Soul - Episode Three

This episode of Persona – Trinity Soul – was pretty faced paced as there’s was a lot going on, but I still was trying to figure out how everything is put together, and connected. This episode suggests that Megumi has the same ability as Shin. While Shin and his friends are at the police station, things get interesting as Ryou dragged Shin from his friends and told him to leave the city, and move to another place. After Shin leaves he police station and meets Eriko, we get another shot of the pills and container that Ryou has been using, though like other people watching this show, I’m wondering why he has to take these pills.

I was a bit lost as the second half as the second episode of this episode played out, as a group of people want to shadow strip Shin, and Ryou using his powers to fight against other Latents. From the next episode credits it looks like things should become clearer, as it looks like Shin and Ryou have a talk about what is going on.

Hatenkou Yuugi - Episode Three

If one loves circus, and killer clowns then you will enjoy this episode, as the traveling trio, visit a circus where a sexy ring master kidnaps and kills people from the audience, to bring her child back to life.

I liked how this episode had a dark element to this episode, with this episode all showing of the trio sleeping cutely asleep. Also this episode showed of Baroqueheat using his sword, that appears in the opening theme.

Seeing Rahzel blush in this episode a couple of times in this episode, also made be enjoy this episode even more.

Hatenkou Yuugi - Episode Two

This episode of Hatenkou Yuugi takes place in a jail with the three traveling companies spending most of this episode is a jail, with a small boy that they meet. I really liked the opening of this episode with it being filmed in the early black an white movie style, though if this episode played out in this fashion, I would of enjoyed this episode greatly, as I don’t think an episode has played out in this fashion.

I thought that this episode was okay in the end, though I enjoyed Baroqueheat’s attempts to get close to Rahzel in this episode. Even though we don’t get it explained how Rahzel’s gets her teddy bear back, I wonder if the episode will end like Rahzel said, with her being a cute old lady, with Alzied and Baroqueheat be old gentleman?

This episode has gotten some flack for having stills used as action scenes, but I’m understanding, because Studio Deen are probably now working on Vampire Knight and Maria-sama ga Miteru. Despite the so called action scene getting some flack in this episode, people won’t complain when Vampire Knight and Maria-sama ga Miteru air.

Slightly off topic, does anybody else think that Zero Kiryuu (Vampire Knight) and Alzied are similar from a character design and attitude point of view?

Anime & Gundam 00 24 Jan 2008 05:12 pm

Gundam 00 - Episode Fifteen

As the previous episode of Gundam 00 was a build up episode, that foreshadowed Union, HRL and AEU combing 52 squads (832 mobile suits), to capture a Gundam for their respective sides. As the AEU,HRL and Union haven’t been on good terms with one another in the past, it was good to finally see each side put their differences aside, to hopefully learning something the captured Gundam, and then most likely fight against the other factions with hopefully superior technology.

Before getting into the big battle in this episode, I liked the small minor details that this episode presented, such as Louise wanting Saji to buy her a brand ring (a wedding ring perhaps?) to make her feel better since her mother left. Also I enjoyed seeing Felt falling asleep after some coffee, wanting to hear any word from the Gundam Meisters. Also I loved Patrick’s reaction when he saluted Captian Kathy Monakin, when she tells Patrick to get ready to launch. Lastly I thought that Joushua’s scene where he gets a rush off ambition to make captain, in this episode, was interesting, as he was the only person in Graham’s squad to go against him.

I thought the big battle that occurs in this episode to capture a Gundam was pretty good, as the music did help make the scenes exciting, and energetic. Even though the audience doesn’t get a good view of the new Gundam’s, my initial opinion of them it that they a more bulky then the current Gundam’s, though still have the agility, speed and strength of the current Gundam’s.

I’m really looking forward to the next episode, to have a little peek at the personality’s of the new Gundam pilot’s, and the new Haro.

La Corda D’oro ~primo passo~ - Episode Ten

This episode deals with the second selection, so Hino, Tsukimori, Yunoki, Shimizu, Fuyuumi and Hihara get new outfits for their performance. Before the second selection gets under way, the playing musicians get to meet Tsukimori’s mother (Hamai Misa). After the audience and musicians get to have a look at Tsukimori’s mother and father, comments are made that Tsukimori gets his looks from his mother.

It was good IMO to see that Kanazawa made a bet with Hihara, that if he places higher than three people then Kanazawa has to treat him to a meal of his favourite food, as some competitors make small bets with one another.

This selection is more interesting then the previous one, with Tsukimori being disqualified for not turning up on time to play his piece, as he is lock in a closet by three students that he made upset, in the previous episodes.

After the ending credits play, we get to see Tsukimori’s piece that he was to play in the selection. With Tsukimori being disqualified in this episode, it will make the race to be the top musician in the school selection more interesting.

If you’re a Tsukimori X Hino fan, then there’s a small scene from this episode that you will enjoy.

Hatenkou Yuugi - Episode One

As this was one of the few shoujo series airing in the 08 winter schedule, I was immedealy drawn to the story of this show, as it features a female lead here two male companions traveling to different worlds. The sliver haired bishounen that accompanies Rahzel is named Alzeid, and the brown haired bishounen is named Baroqueheat.

This anime from the beginning of this episode is Rahzel’s story of the adventures that she has, when he father kicks her out of her house. Rahzel soon meets up with Alzeid, and the pair take the job of a ghost exorcism, as the target is Miss Norma. Miss Norma has wanted 20 years to meet up with her lover, as when she eloped with her lover, she hit her head and died.

I thought that this episode ended in a non-stereotypical fashion, with Miss Norma passing into heaven. I thought that the relationship and humour between Rahzel and Alzeid was interesting, and the interaction between the main three leads was interesting to watch, during the course of this episode.

I thought the ending of this episode was good as Rahzel, Alzeid and Baroqueheat just make one promise between the three, that tomorrow, and that days after that, that they will have a fun time together.

As this anime IMO doesn’t have the greatest colour scheme, the show mangers to be quite interesting. I thought that the opening and closing themes were pretty good, and I’m interested in Rahzel’s teddy bear, that has a blind fold on it. As this anime will feature mainly new characters and story’s every week, the enjoyment of this show will be depended upon how interesting the characters and story is played out in each new episode.
