Gundam 00 - Episode Four
This episode of Gundam 00 is more a political episode, though there’s lots’ happening also in this episode. Here’s a run down on what occurred in this episode:
- Get a look at the Ptolemaios briefing room, with most of the crew in that room.
- Colonel of the Human Reform League assigned to capture a Gundam before the AEU and Union.
- Introduced to super solider 1, Soma Peries, that is working with the Colonel.
- Introduced to the two (Warrant officer Howard Mason, and Master Sergeant Daryl Dutch) Flag Fighters to join Graham Arce from the Union.
- Get to see where some of the Gundam’s are stored on Earth.
- Graham Arce gets a custom Flag fighter, and has a minor battle with Setsana
- Taribia decides to withdrawn from the Union, and the response from this is the Gundam’s attacking them.
I was interested in this episode where the term super solider was mentioned, as I’m a big comic book fan, I immediately thought of battles Captain America had with the Red Skull. Hopefully Gundam 00 while involve some sort of realistic plot elements with this, instead of the Gundam Seed extended. I liked Graham’s custom black Flag, though I think that which ever faction captures a Gundam first, will definitely have the advantage over the other factions.
I was happy to see that most of the Ptolemaios crew got some screen time, though from the opening theme, I wonder if the brown haired girl of the Ptolemaios may eventually have a relationship with Tieria in the series, because she is holding onto Tieria’s shirt in the opening credits. Maybe I looking for something, that’s not there, but it will be fun to see in my suspicion is true or not.

Ghost In the Shell:Solid State Society
My first thought about Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society is that I was happy that there would be more Ghost in the Shell in some format, as I thoroughly enjoyed both series from Production I.G.
This installment of Ghost in the Shell takes places two years after Ghost in the Shell: 2nd GIG, where the major has left the team, and that Togusa is now the field leader. The plot of this film deals with Section 9 about a Puppeteer that is killing people.
Having seen all two movies and series of the Ghost in the Shell franchise, I thought that overall that this extension of the two Ghost in the Shell series, that I felt that this movie was a bit flat, as that there was a lack of consistent tension and build up throughout the movie. I did feel that there was tension in bits and pieces of this episode.
For a movie, I did feel that the animation was on par, which one would expect for a movie, as no scene looked off model or vibrant. I did feel that the CG at some times was noticeable, though not jarring with the cell animation.
I thought that the character designs of the characters in the show were good, as this movie showcased Section 9 members in some nice new outfits. As Yoko Kanno did the music for both GIST: SAC series, I feet that the movie didn’t allow her to showcase her talents, as the explanations from the characters, and lack of tension buildup throughout movie, affected the mood of the series. I did think the opening theme song did fit well the opening credits.
I did think it was nice that this movie did pay tribute to the first Ghost in the Shell movie, with the villain in this movie being dubbed the Puppeteer, and the major dressing up in the way like the original Puppet Master in the first Ghost in the Shell movie. I did like how the villain in this movie tried to make the best out of low birth rates, an ageing population by altering the registration of children, and then not allowing the aged assets to be sized by the state.
Despite this movie IMO being rather average, I was happy to see the members of Section 9 strut their stuff again.

Rose of Versailles - Episode Sixteen
This episode of Rose of Versailles is pretty fully on, as there’s a fair bit happening in this episode. I’ll just do a quick summary of events that occur in this episode:
- Oscar teaches Rosalie to fence
- Oscar, Andre and Rosalie attend Madame Elizabeth’s ball
- Nicolas and Jeanne scheme another plot in this episode, and partly carry it out.
- Rosalie meets Jeanne, and Rosalie tells Jeanne about mother’s death.
- Rosalie ends up throwing a fan at Mademoiselle Charlotte, because Mademoiselle Charlotte questions if she is a noble.
- Mademoiselle Charlotte mother is Count Poligance.
- Count Poligance asks Oscar to apologize about the ball incident; Oscar doesn’t apologise, and says that Mademoiselle Charlotte started the argument.
I thought it was a good episode overall, though I got the feeling that when Rosalie was dancing with Oscar’s military uniform, that no doubt if Oscar was a man, that Rosalie would be all over him. I was happy to see the little exchange between Rosalie and Jeanne, though Jeanne still is rejecting Rosalie. The ending of this episode showed that looks like the battle between Oscar and Count Poligance should be good.

Rose of Versailles - Episode Fifthteen
This episode of Rose of Versailles starts off with Oscar’s confinement ending. This episode is mainly about Count Poligance getting Marine Antoinette addicted to gambling, after she runs up some serious debt. I felt that this episode showed the cunning nature those Count Poligance possessors. I thought that the pregnant story that Count Poligance comes up with, was pretty devious, as the whole country got sucked in.
This episode ended in interesting circumstances, as Count Poligance blamed Oscar for Marie Antoinette’s mischarge, by claiming that Oscar pointed her sword at Marine Antoinette, thus Marine Antoinette to mischarge.
It was interesting to watch this episode, where everything went to plan for Count Poligance. It seems that the politics of the palace, is slowly sucking in Oscar, and thus affecting her standing, and character.

Rose of Versailles - Episode Fourteen
This episode of Rose of Versailles continues Countess Polignac friendship that she has with Marnie Antoinette. This episode has Countess Polignac getting lots of favors from Marie Antoinette, such as more maids, a new house, and the list goes on. Despite part of this episode dedicated towards Countess Polignac, Rosealie’s story continues in this episode as Rosealie’s get a job as a sewer, where Countess Polignac orders a dress from. While Countess Polignac is making here way back to the palace, she runs over Rosealie’s mother, where Countess Polignac, just simply ignores Rosealie’s mother dying, and continues on her way to the palace.
Before Rosealie mother dies, she tells Rosealie the truth that she is a noble, and that her heritage comes from the Martine Gabrielle family. I thought it was nice that Bernard Chatelet offered his help to Rosealie, as he is a news reporter in Paris. As Rosealie can only think about revenge, she ends up attacking, Oscar’s mother, as she thought that Oscar’s mother was Countess Polignac. Oscar easily stops Rosealie’s attack, and Oscar tells Rosealie, about that almost nobles own at least one blue dress, with flower patterns on it. Oscar befriends Rosealie, and will teacher her to become a noble, so that she can take her revenge.
I thought that this episode advanced the plot of this show a lot, as it will be interesting to see if Rosealie can carry out her revenge, and if that the will run into her sister that is already involved in the palace circles. Looks like things will be very interesting in the palace circles, in the episodes to come.

Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle - Episode Three
This episode is entitled Strong-arm! Parking Violation Wrestler, but it could easily be called IMO 586 fire, as this episode deals with a character that is in a similar mold to Strike-Man from the first YUA series. This episode deals with a washed up wrestler, and due to losing his title, doesn’t know how to deal with not lifting things, so he turns his energy into tossing people’s car up against the sidewalk, that violate the parking laws.
Besides this episode showing the strength that Natsumi’s possesses, we got to see the Honda portal car, which the dynamic duo use on patrol. This episode also showed cased the love that the chief has for Taiyaki.

Gundam 00 - Episode Three
As we are only three episodes into this new Gundam series, I got the feeling that this episode was partly used to display the characters in new environment, while also showing the viewer more little about the various environments that the cast is involved in, and how they might run into each other in episodes to come.
Below is a list if things I enjoyed about this episode:
- It seems that bean sabers are highly valued, as Graham fled his fight with Setena, after Setena revealed his beam saber.
- Got a look at the targeting system of Gundam Dynames.
- Got a little insight into the relationship between Saji and Louise.
- Got to see the officer quarters of people working in JNN.
- Flag and other sides trying to improve the power of their grunt units, by studying various aspects of the Gundam’s.
- That intelligence officer Billy Kataragi and Graham Arce being assigned to the Anti-Gundam Defence Force.
- Got to see Gundam Virtue dock with the Ptolemaios.
- Interesting to here that the Gundam’s have a weakness, in that they have to dock with the Ptolemaios at regular intervals.
- Interesting that the plot point of the Gundam’s having a solar furnace may be shown, when the Gundam’s run out solar powered energy.
- That Tieria hates the surface, but likes space.
Overall, I felt the episode covered a lot of things in this episode, while advancing the plot of this episode, and that slowly details about the characters of the show are being revealed. I don’t know if anyone else noticed this small detail, that if one removes the r from Acre, that one gets ace. Also I thought the scene where a grunt unit challengers Setena’s Gundam in a duel, I thought Setena should of done a Indianan Jones, and just shoot the grunt unit, instead of fighting it with its saber.

Your Under Arrest: Full Throttle - Episode Two
As this episode is entitled “The Small Samurai”, this episode deals and concludes Randy’s adventure to Japan. After Natsumi and Miyuki got their partnership back last episode, the twin in this episode mainly baby sit Randy in this episode. I thought that the scene of Nastumi piggy backing Randy was a cute moment in this episode. As Your Under Assert is a show that is more realistic in nature, I liked how this episode showed a small insight into Natsumi’s home. This episode also had a non fan-service Natsumi shower scene.
As I like shows that put in the effort to give the characters of the show a wardrobe, I did like the various outfits that Natsumi and Miyuki wore in this episode. This episode has Randy wanting to be with his grandfather, and after some time, his grand father allows Randy to stay with him in Japan.

Gundam 00 - Episode Two
This episode of Gundam 00 started off on a political start, with the narrator speaking the structure of the various groups, and how solar power is used in this universe. This episode introduces some more characters to the Gundam 00 cast, while also giving some screen time to some characters from the previous episode. I’m not going to do a fully review of this episode, but will give a small analysis of what I disliked and liked about this episode.
The good:
- Got a look at the OS of the Gundam Exia.
- The Ptdemanioe bridge bunnies got more screen time in this episode.
- Liked the OS computer screen at JNN Main Building.
- Got to see Gundam Virtue launch from the Ptdemanioe.
- Liked the Atieran getting some screen time (the green fodder unit in this episode) in this episode, as seeing how it moves, when it battle.
The So-So:
- Thought that the setup in the Human Reform League Satellite Station, was like the set up section 9’s (GIST:SAC) androids that monitor calls.
The bad:
- Would have liked to learn that names of the Ptdemanioe bridge bunnies, and other male crew members.
- Every mecha design seems to be right handed. Wouldn’t mind seeing a left hand mecha unit, just to add variety.

Bleach: Memories of Nobody
This movie is in the similar vein as the Inu-Yasha and Naruto movies were a show becomes popular, and due to that popularity that a movie is made based on the characters. As this movie is animated by Studio Perriot, I initially a bit cautious about the outcome of this movie as have only enjoyed the first Naruto movie out of the three Naruto movies, but after watching this movie, I was happy that this movie turned out well.
This movie centre’s around Senna, a mysterious shinigami, which is very energetic, and likes to tease Ichigo. I thought that Senna was a very good character in that she adds lots energy to the movie. I thought that the other side characters that normally appear in Bleach, such as Renji, Rukia also added there normal chemistry to this movie.
As this is a movie, I thought that the animation for this movie was that of the quality one would associate with a movie. I thought that the scene where Ichigo is rolling on the ground, and his shinigami form appears, I thought was a well animated scene. Other scenes in the movie also were well animated, though I don’t think that one would associate a similar scene being repeated in a TV episode, due to budget and time constraints.
I thought that character designs of Senna and the Dark Ones were good, and I thought that the Dark Ones weapons that they had were interesting. Despite them being fodder for the Shinigami that appear in this movie, I wouldn’t have minded if they lasted a little longer, as I would have liked to know a bit more about them, then just being troops for Ganryū.
I thought that the movie ended quite nicely, and for this being the first attempt at doing a Bleach movie, I thought that it turned out better then I expected.
