Glass Fleet - Episode Four

As the previous episode of Glass Fleet had Vettai and Creo about to battle one another, this episode is mainly centred on the fight that occurs between the two. Despite that is episode mainly focuses on Creo and Vettai fighting one another in this episode, I liked how this episode dropped some clues in the fight between Creo and Vettai, as it seems that Michel and fought Vettai in the past and lost. AS it seems that Michel lost in the past to Vettai in a sword fight, is seems likely that Michel has some sort of branding on his/her back that Michel has concealed from the viewer so far.

I thought that the sword fight that occurs between Vettai and Creo in this episode, was quite good, which I found surprising. I thought that the fight between Vettai and Creo was pretty tense, in and out of the bar, as objects around the pair while fighting were used to enhance the tension of the fight between the two. I thought that sword fight between Vettai and Creo was well animated, though it seems that animation quality may be an issue in this series, I thought that the action scenes were animated quite well.

I thought the climax of the fight between Creo and Vettai was interesting, as the fight ended with their shirts that they were wearing, being ripped apart from some mysterious power, when the two collided with one another. I partly think of the reason why their T-shirts exploded, is because to provide some fan service to the female audience members. As Vettai and Creo t-shirts exploded at the critical moment of their battle with each other, I thought that it was interesting to note that Vettai is part machine or metal.

After Vettai and Creo are quite hurt from their exploding t-shirts, members from Vettai’s crew help him aboard his ship. While Vettai is being helped aboard his ship, Michel is seen helping Creo. After Creo and Vettai have partly recovered from the previous battle, the rest of the episode turns into another combat sequence involves Vettai ship, fighting against Creo’s glass ship.

I thought that the ship to ship fight against Vettai and Creo was pretty tense, as both opponents managed to out think the other at different stages of the ship fight. Despite myself enjoying the ship vs. ship between Vettai and Creo, I really wished the ships weren’t 3DCG, as IMO it would of looked more interesting in 2D handdrawn animation.

Despite the episode ending with Creo’s ship getting away from Vettai’s grasp, I thought that this episode was pretty good, as the fight between Vettai and Creo, basically played out of the length of this episode.

Gun Sword - Episode Twenty Four

As the previous episode of Gun Sword saw Van and Michael fight it out between each other, and Fasalina trying to stop the hover base from reaching the claw’s man base, this episode of Gun Sword escalates the claw man’s plan from the previous episode.

As Fasalina from last episode has decided to act as a shield to protect the claw man’s base, I thought it was to see in this episode, more of Dahlia’s attacks. As Fasalina is mainly concerned with stopping Ray (in Volcan) to snipe the claw man with his high powered rifle, I thought that the fight between Fasalina and Ray was very intense, in this episode.

As Volcan has been reduced to automated guns, in place of his arms, I thought that Ray did a good job of defeating Fasalina’s Dalhia in this episode. While Ray is fighting Fasalina in this episode, I liked how Ray used the high powered rifle to bounce the bullet of Vulcan, so it would hit Dahlia, and destroying one of her mounted machine guns. As Fasalina battled Ray in this episode, I really liked you both of them were willing to sacrifice their armour’s, to be able to land a direct hit on their opponents armour. Despite Ray ended up defeating Fasalina, I thought that Ray was able to beat Faslina due to having the reflective shield that Vulcan is covered in.

While Fasalina is battling Ray in this episode, Pricilla and El Dora get some time in this episode showing what skills they poses against the claw man’s patrol group. As this episode played out I liked how the El Dora group said to Pricilla while fighting, that when Van returns back, they will ask him to marry Pricilla, because Pricilla won’t ask Van this. While the majority of this episode is focused on the battles that occur around the claw man’s base, I found the bits of this episode where the episode focus on the claw man, a bit odd and interesting.

I found the bit where the claw man is rasing his terra-base, and activating his armour (Brain Style) and starting operation Happy Birthday odd, because the claw man says Happy Birthday, and every other employee working under the claw man says Happy Birthday as well. After Ray has defeated Fasalina in this episode and has self detonated Vulcan to take out Saudade of Sunday, I liked how this episode portrayed the bit with Ray and the Claw man in the end bit of this episode.

After Ray has selfdestructed Volcan to try and destroy Saudade of Sunday, Ray approaches the claw, with his staff/gun in hand. While Ray is pointing his gun at the claw man I liked how he described all the feelings that he felt, after the claw man killed his wife, Shino. After Ray has fired a bullet at the claw man, and successfully deflecting it, I liked how the bullet got logged into the workings of the of the claw’s man armour, which prevented his dream to come true. I thought that the shocked look that the claw man gave, after he realised why his dream hasn’t come true, reminded me of the Visa or MasterCard priceless advertisement.

After Ray says that the claw man’s dream is over, some of the claw man’s troops shoot Ray down. I thought that the ending scene where Ray is scene sitting in a chair talking to Shino, was a great ending showing Ray being reunited with is one true love, Shino.

Overall I thought that this episode of Gun Sword was excellent, as this episode had a good combination of action and drama. As Dann isn’t seen in this episode, and that Saudade of Sunday is seen in this episode, it will be interesting to see if Van will play apart of the next episode.

Death Note - Episode Twenty Two

As Misa has tricked Higiuchi into confessing that he is Kira, on Misa’s cell phone, this episode is dedicated to L’s plan to get Higiuchi to reveal how he kills people as ‘Kira’. As the Yotsuba arc IMO started off slowly, this episodes picks right the pace, as there’s lots of things to like about this episode.

As you can guess from the screen caps that I have taken from this episode, I went a little L crazy, with taking pictures of L playing with his food, in the first half of this episode. I thought that scenes involving L playing with his food in the first half of this episode, made me focus on what was L doing, in the non-tension filled first half of this episode.

I thought that the plan that L comes up with in this episode to get Matsuda to go to Sakura TV, and do a live interview about Kira’s identity, was a good plan to lure Higiuchi. At the Kira special that Matsuda will do, Matsuda will tell the identity of Kira at the end of the two hour special. While Matsuda is doing the interview for the Kira special, I thought that the extra incentive of Matsuada “accidentally” revealing his identity to the viewers (and Higiuchi, when he watchers the interview), by accidentally pushing the silhouette down, that will hide his identity while delivering the interview.

I thought that the animation of this episode was really good, as all the scenes looked good, and the music that was used in each scene, added to the tension that this episode builded up. Despite this episode focusing on L’s plan to trap Higuichi, I thought that this episode was interesting, that Shimura, Namikawa and Midou were able to logical guess of how mostly likely was Kira, among the eight of them. I liked how Shimura, Namikawa and Midou guessed correctly that Higiuchi was Kira.

As this episode of Death Note was plot development episode, I liked how this episode dropped a little innuendo into this episode, by having Light again making contact with Namikawa again, saying that he was L. As Light created a little innuendo by using L’s name again in this episode, it was interesting to see that Light made a mistake, by saying that Higiuchi is Kira, to Namikawa.

As I have found the CG in Death Note to be either okay, or bad, I thought that the CG used to show Weddy and Higiuchi’s position’s near the end of this episode, looked good. I also thought that Weddy looked pretty good in her motorbike jumpsuit when she called L, about successfully breaking into Higiuchi’s place, to bug everything that Higiuchi owned. Lastly I thought that the evil laugh that Higiuchi gave at the very end of this episode was pretty good.

Overall I thought that this episode of Death Note was very good, as I couldn’t find anything that I disliked about this episode.

Gun Sword - Episode Twenty Three

As the previous episode of Gun Sword dealt with Van trying to use Gadved’s satellite to repair Dann, Van mangers to dock into Gadved’s armour’s satellite storage area, upon this episode playing out. After Van has docked with Gadved’s armour satellite, Van yells at the automated system so that it will repair himself and Dann. While Van spends most of this episode deals in Gadved’s storage satellite, this episode mainly focuses of Michael’s journey in space, and the claw man starting his plan.

As Michael is in space, the moon’s liquid material state pulls Saudade of Sunday toward the moon. While Saudade of Sunday is being pulled toward the moon, Michael is given a bird’s eye view of what remains in space. As Saudade of Sunday mangers to get into a spaceship that was left on the moon, Michael can clearly see a lot of dead people floating there, that have the same uniform as the claw man is wearing now. After Michael reports what he sees to the claw man, we get a little flashback sequence where somebody is seen shooting the claw man, because he disagreed with their views.

After Saudade of Sunday and Michael have taken in the sights of what is left on the moon, Michael activates the claw man’s plan. As the claw man’s plan is called Birthday, after the operation starts, a 120 to 140 m beam of light hits the moon from earth. As this beam of light from the claw man’s base hits the moon, the moon starts being pulled toward the prison planet. While Michael is at the moon (in Saudade of Sunday), team Van is busy making preparations of the final battle that is about to come.

After Michael has executed the claw man’s plan of pulling the moon towards the prison planet (Endless Illusion), I liked how Catherine and Mr. Mason woke up, to discover that their room is partly flooded due to global warming, of the moon being pulled towards Endless Illusion. After the scene focuses on Catherine and Mr Mason from the Missoghi Kingdom, I liked how minor characters from the filler episodes of Gun Sword were looking at the moon eg. Bucci from episode three, Pricilla’s sister, Muscat’s and Honey Cherry, and Captain Kaji. After team Van notices what effect the beam of light the claw man fired from the previous days, the hover base comes under attack by Fasalina (in her Dahlia) and a group of green patrol armours that are seen in episode twenty one.

After Fasalina has fired a shot at the hover base, team Van takes action to counter attack. As Ray’s hasn’t fought in Vulcan for some time, this allows Ray to display his new abilities of his repaired Vulcan to Fasalina, and the claw man’s patrol armour’s. As both of Vulcan’s arms were blow off by Fasalina’s Dahlia, Joshua has connected automatic guns, to where Vulcan’s arms once were. As Ray is havung trouble focusing his right eye, Joshua tells Ray the position of where the enemy is, and Ray uses the new weaponry that Joshua has installed on Vulcan, to dispose of some of the claw’s patrol group surrounding them. As Vulcan posses no arms now, Fasalina’s Dahlia mangers to lightly wounded Ray’s armour with it’s staff. Despite Ray’s best attempt to fend of a mass amount of the claw man’s patrol group, Eldora and Brownie are forced to help out a struggling Ray. While the hover base is attacked by Fasalina, Michael is informed that Gadved’s storage satellite is coming closer towards him.

As Michael notices that Gadved’s satellite is coming in his direction, Michael decides to shoot it down, but Dann suddenly appears from the satellite storage. As Michael is shocked that Van is still alive, the two engage in combat. I thought that the fight sequence between Saudade of Sunday and Dann was really cool, as Dann gets shadow effects added to his movements in space, to make Van’s armour look cool while fighting Michael. Despite the battle between Michael and Van was short, I liked how the episode ended with Michael re-entering Endless illusion’s atmosphere, while being protected from a compact heat shield (while Dann is left in space).

Overall I thought that this episode pretty good, mainly due to the fight sequence that occurs between Michael and Van. I was glad to see, that the characters that appeared in the filler episodes of Gun Sword, get a small amount of screen time in this episode. It will be interesting to see if the characters that appeared in the filler episodes, will make any more appearances, after this episode.

Anime & Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch 22 Mar 2007 11:50 pm

Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch - Episode Twenty

Has Zero/Lelouch has acquired his Gawain in the previous episode; this episode of Code Geass is partly used to show off the abilities of the Gawain.

As the previous episode of Code Geass ended with a Japanese Fleet attacking Britannia, this episode of Code deals with Sawasaki Atsushi of the old Japanese government (who is now working with the Chinese Federation), taking over the Fukuoka base. As the Chinese Federation has now taken over one of Britannia’s bases, Suzuka is used in this episode to liberate it from the Chinese Government.

In all I thought that this episode was very good episode, due to that the fighting scenes in this episode were well choreographed, and that this episode depicted well the ability of Lancelot with it’s flying backpack (Float Unit). I didn’t expect to see that Lelouch/Zero would come to Suzuka’s rescue in this episode, when he was running out of power for Lancelot. When the episode depicted the Gawain and Lancelot ‘holding hands’ in this episode, my mind went straight to the scene in Gundam Seed, where the Strike and Justice hold hands, before they are launched into space at Orb.

Besides this episode triggering one element of Gundam Seed I disliked, I thought that the scene of where Lancelot and Lelouch’s/Zero’s Gawain are working together, was a well thought-out moment. Despite this episode displaying some nice action moments, I thought that this episode delivered some nice emotional moments, when Euphemia declared that he loved Suzuka in this episode.

As Schneizel has just been introduced in this show, I’m pretty confident that it won’t be long before he makes some impact on the show, which will make Lelouch’s ambition to be ruler of Britannia, almost seem impossible.

Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch - Episode Nineteen

As I’m failing behind a little in my bogging, I’ll just provide my thoughts about this episode. This episode’s main plot elements play homage to the Gundam Seed episode, where Cagalli and Arthrun are on a deserted island together, where they have to survive together.

I thought that this episode was pretty interesting on the fact that Lelouch and Euphemia were paired together, and that they haven’t spoken really to each other for a long period of time. As Lelouch and Euphemia seemed to get on well with each other on a desert island, I thought that the pairing of Suzuka and Kallen was interesting.

While Kallen is paired with Suzuka on this deserted island, I found it interesting that Kallen’s real Japanese name ends with the letter k (Kohzuki), and that Lelouch’s fake name also ends with an l (Lamperouge). While this episode played out, I thought that this episode showed again the differences that Lelouch and Suzuka share.

As this episode had Lelouch acquiring his Knightmare unit in this episode, my thought regarding this is that it will be interesting to see how powerful this unit is, when engaged in combat. Overall I thought that this episode had a good mix of action, drama and a bit of fan service in it, while advancing the plot o the show.

Anime & Le Chevalier D`Eon 18 Mar 2007 02:32 am

Le Chevalier D’Eon: Episode Fifteen

As the previous episode of Le Chevalier D’Eon had the four musketeers transcribed the notes that Robert Wood was carrying, this episode deals with the four musketeers being betrayed by Duke Guerchy.

As the relationship between Anna and D’Eon has been given a lot of screen time in this series so far, I liked how this episode started on a fluffy/warm note, with Anna writing a letter to D’Eon. I liked how Anna teased D’Eon in the letter that she sent to D’Eon, by saying that at a recent dinner /dance party that was held recently in France, that she was asked by two men to dance with her. After Anna says this in the letter that she sent D’Eon, she asks D’Eon if she has become prettier.

As the three other musketeers see D’Eon smiling upon reading Anna’s letter, Terrigory says is best that D’Eon stays put, while the other three musketeers to make sure that Duke Guerchy won’t catch up to them. After Terrigory and Robin depart, Durand says D’Eon what is happening in France. D’Eon says to Durand that Madame de Pompadour’s speeches have increased, and that there is a conference between the English Ambassador and the royal family soon. After D’Eon has told Durand what is happening in France, Durand pays a visit to Duke Guerchy.

While Durand visits duke Guerchy, I thought that the conversation that they have is interesting, as they talk about various topics, including paintings. While Durand pays a visit to Duke Guerchy, Duke Guerchy passes a message that King Louis sent. Durand decides to open the letter the King Louis sent to him, in front of Duke Guerchy. Durand is surprised to see that the letter that King Louis sent was blank. As Duke Guerchy is interested in what Durand’s current orders are, Durand just says that the letter contained a poem.

After Durand leaves Duke Guerchy’s office, the scene shifts to the group of Maximilien Robespierre, Lorenze, Duke Cagliostro and some other mysterious person from the covenant that Robespierre visited in episode thirteen. As Maximilien Robespierre is waiting for the right time to move, Maximilien Robespierre allows Duke Cagliostro in the mean time to drink himself stupid. While Maximilien Robespierre’s group is in waiting for the perfect time to make their move, Robert Wood visits Earl Sandwich at his office. After Robert Wood hands over the documents that the was guarding, Earl Sandwich notices that some else has opened the case for he meet Robert Wood just now, and he demands how someone could open his briefcase. An embarrassed Robert Wood says that he was at the evening party with Lia, Duke Guerchy, Terrigory, and her majesty Mary.

After Earl Sandwich has gotten the information that he wanted out of Robert Wood, he will pay a visit to Duke Guerchy, while Earl Sandwich mentions that Robert Wood will be charged with a crime, where Robert Wood will be the plaintiff against England in court.

While Earl Sandwich is on his way to visits Duke Guerchy, Durand turns into a secluded alley, where he spills some ink on the ‘blank’ letter that he received from King Louis. After Durand has spilled some substance on the letter, Durand is shocked by what the contents of the letter are.

After Durand has read the letter that was sent to him in this episode, Earl Sandwich visits Duke Guerchy. As Duke Guerchy loyalty is shared between Maximilien Robespierre and Durand and the four musketeers, Duke Guerchy decides to betray the four musketeers, and reveals to Earl Sandwich where the four musketeers are currently hiding.

After night has fallen, and the four musketeers have had a talk about what to do next, Durand decides to take a walk. While Durand is out for his walk, Earl Sandwich and some military men storm the four musketeer’s hideout. Despite Earl Sandwich’s men finding the four musketeers hideout, they don’t find them there, because they are now hiding in tight hidden room, between two walls.

While Durand is talking is walk, Durand is upset why King Louis would want him to kill D’Eon, and get the Verse of the Royal Family. While Durand is walking back to the hideout, Durand is meet my Earl Sandwich’s men. As Durand is left with no option but to fight, Durand tries his best to take out as many of the English troops as possible. After Durand has taken care of some troops, Durand is meet by the mysterious poet that was with Maximilien Robespierre.

I thought it was cool how Durand attacked the mysterious poet by throwing his short knife with his sword. Despite Durand trying his best to kill this mysterious poet, the mysterious poet uses some of his spells, to make Durand’s left hand go wonky. As Durand knows that this feeling in his left hand won’t stop, and consume the rest of his body, Durand decides to cut of his own left arm to save the rest of himself.

After Durand has cut off his left arm, Maximilien Robespierre appears and says a verse that makes this mysterious poet, crush his own skull with both of his hands. I thought that the episode ended on a good note with Robin, Terrigory and D’Eon wondering what happened, while they hide themselves.

Overall I thought that this episode of Le Chevalier D’Eon was very good, because some significant damage happened to one of the four musketeers. Despite Durand lost an arm in this episode, I felt this episode highlighted how powerless swordsman are to that power that the poets wield. I also felt that this episode also added to my suspicion of King Louis being the puppeteer of things that are happening in this show, as he sent that secret letter to Durand, to kill D’Eon.

Anime & Gun Sword 16 Mar 2007 02:33 am

Gun Sword - Episode Twenty Two

Ask the previous episode ended with Michael and Saudade of Sunday flying toward space, and Wendy getting asked on a date by the claw man, this episode continues with the plot elements from the previous episode. The opening scene of this episode starts with Van trying to return Dann to its satellite home, but failing every time. As Van is trying to return Dann to its satellite base, the presence of rain sets up a somber mood, as Van is trying to return Dann to its satellite.

After Van has given up of trying to return Dann to its satellite home, team Van is just sitting around wondering what there next move against the claw man should be. The peace at the hover base is distributed by Yukiko, as she says that Wendy has disappeared. As Wendy has accepted the offer to go on a date with the claw man, Wendy is greeted by the puppies of the evil looking dog from episode seven. After the evil looking dog has assumed that Wendy is alone, the claw man offers his hand to help Wendy from her fall, due to being shocked by seeing the evil looking dog.

While Wendy and the claw man are on their date, they talk about the claw man’s plans, and Michael. I found it interesting that the claw man apologizes to Wendy about forcing Michael to share is dream. While the two talk about Michael, it’s revealed that Michael is a person how understands what people are thinking. While the claw man and Wendy are talking, we see that Michael is thirty three hours into his trip into space.

After Wendy and the claw man’s date is over, Wendy tells her comrades at the hover base were she went. Van is immediately upset that Wendy went to meet the claw man without telling him, because he wants his revenge. Instead of coping Van’s abuse, Wendy stands up for herself saying that she went to see the claw man to ask him something, and that if Van wants revenge that he should go by himself. As this scene was playing out between Van and Wendy, I felt that Wendy has changed quite a bit since that start of the series, to this ponit in time. I found it a little funny that the message that the claw man wanted Wendy to pass on Van. The message that the claw man wanted Wendy to pass to Van is basically a message saying his sorry for destroying your armour’s satellite home.

After Wendy tells her comrade’s what she was discussing with the claw man, team Van is seen that night having a barbeque. While Van is eating, Priscilla mentions that is Van can’t return Dann to its original satellite, then why can’t Dann use the other satellite base, that the original seven members used. As Van thinks that this is a good idea and worth a try, Van mentions it’s best that they look for Gadved’s Diablo satellite, because it’s a similar type of armour to Dann.

As team Van has lots of motivation to try out this idea, I liked how the director of this episode displayed team Van, and people that Van meet on his journey (Bucci, Captian Kaji and Catherine and Mr. Mason from the Missoghi kingdom) help team Van out with finding out where space is, and where Diablo’s satellite (and it’s orbit) is, while there was only music playing through this scene. I really wish more shows would try using this cinematic technique of displaying the characters actions working all together, with only a good musical score being played in the background, as I felt this episode was worth seeing just for this scene.

Soon after team Van has been working hard to get Dann in orbit, Ray unexpectedly joins team Van, due to Yukiko slapping some sense into him. Ray helps out team Van get Dann in orbit at the end of this episode, by providing a artificial engine that is capable of keeping electricity stable.(due to the high energy requirements to launch Dann into space).

While Ray is at the hover base, Ray is getting Vulcan repaired by Joshua, so he can continue to see if he can get his revenge on the claw man. Ray and Joshua become a little closer in this episode, as Joshua is pretending to be sleeping; Ray puts a blanket over him so he doesn’t catch a cold. After Ray and Joshua become a little closer as brothers, Van and Ray find out that the other isn’t in the best physical health, and we are yet again treated to another short choreographed scene between the pair.

This episode ends with Dann being launched into space, and Michael about to report something important back to the claw man’s base, about the moon. Overall, I thought that this episode was pretty good; due to the warm moments that team Van have in this episode.

Anime & Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch 14 Mar 2007 11:00 pm

Code Geass:Hangyaku no Lelouch - Episode Eightteen

As the previous episode of Code Geass was another recap episode, which was based from Suzuka’s point of view, this episode of Code Geass pits Lelouch and Suzuka against each other yet again. I thought that this episode started off in interesting fashion, with the order of the black knight and the Japanese Liberation Front all gathered together in a submarine in the Indian Ocean.

While both groups are together in the submarine, Zero announcers the order of how the two groups will function. Below is the name of the person that is in charge of that position.

Tohdoh Kyoshirro -Overall in charge of military affairs
Diethard Ried - in charge of spying, intelligence, publicity and public relations
Ohgi Kaname - Vice Commander
Rakshata - Chief of Technological research and development
Team Zero - Kallen Kohzuki
Team 1 - Ashina Shigo
Team 2 - Senba Ryoga
Team 3 – Kagezaki Kizuna
2nd Special Forces team leader – Tamaki Shinichiro

After Zero has told of the stricture of how the Order of the Black Knights and the Japanese Liberation Front will work, I thought that the scene where Suzuka becomes Euphemia’s knight was interesting on the fact, that after Euphemia knights Suzuka as her knight, Euphemia gestures her right hand to her right side. I found this bit of Suzuka’s knight scene interesting, because Lelouch in the opening theme, is seen doing this action but is doing the same action with his left hand.

After Suzuka is knighted as Euphemia’s knight, I liked how Diethard Ried thinks, as he asks to give the okay to assassinate Suzuka when he is not protecting Princess Euphemia. As Lelouch has the final say on what decisions are made in the Order of the Black Knights, it’s interesting to see that he isn’t willing to use his geass on Suzuka. Despite seeing Lelouch reluctingly wanting to use his geass on Suzuka, I bet somewhere down the line that he will eventually use his on Suzuka, because he did use his geass on Shirley, who became quite close to Lelouch.

After the scene of Lelouch telling C.C that he won’t use his geass on Suzuka, I thought that the scene involving the Emperor of Britannia was interesting because he mentions Schneiser’s name, and that I’m pretty sure that Schneiser name was mentioned by Euphemia in a previous episode. Also this scene gave me the feeling that to be Emperor of Britannia, one must challenge the current Emperor to some sort of duel, to be Emperor of Britannia.

I thought that the party scene at Ashford Academy was pretty interesting, because I got the feeling that Lloyd may use Nina knowledge of physics in future episode, as he had that sly look on his face. I also thought that Nina and Lloyd got along pretty well together, about all the scientific stuff that they were talking about. I thought that the way the Rival handled and poured some juice for Suzuka was pretty slick, as it displayed his bartending skills. I found it interesting that Kallen was willing to assassinate Suzuka among all those students at the party, because if you are going to assassinate someone, you would want to do it when there’s as few eyes as possible, and not when the room is filled with heaps of people.

While the scene to commemorate Suzuka being a Euphemia’s knight was playing out, part of me thinks it was pretty dumb of Lloyd to say to Suzuka that a guest would be arriving, and that Princess Euphemia and Lancelot is need to be there to greet the guest, because there’s a thing called confidentiality. Despite Lloyd having a brain fade at the party scene at AshFord Academy, I partly wondered where Arthur was when this scene was playing out, because Arthur is seen around the student council members, but didn’t make an appearance in this episode.

As Lloyd revealed to Suzuka that he would be needed to accompany Euphemia to meet this guest at AshFord Academy, Lelouch overhears the converastion with Lloyd and Suzuka, and uses this information to set a trap for Lancelot. The rest of this episode deals with the trap that Zero/Lelouch has setup, and the sudden appearance of Schneiser, and his air fortress, the Avalon at the end of this episode.

Overall I thought that this was a particularly good episode, because of the appearance of another obstacle that is presented in Lelouch’s way. The obstacle that is in Lelouch’s way to make his claim to be the ruler of Britannia , is due to the appearance of Schneiser, at the end of this episode.

Glass Fleet - Episode Three

As the previous episode of Glass Fleet was an episode where the animation was pretty bad in general, I thought that this episode’s animation was set at a reasonable standard. After the events of the previous episode, this episode starts off with Vettai and Ralph talking to another. The conversation that Vettai and Ralph have with one another is about that Vettai believes in fate, and not love. During the conversation with Ralph, Vettai says that he is ready to walk the path, which is filled with light.

After the scenes were Vettai and Ralph are talking to one another, the episode shifts to Creo’s ship towing Michel’s ship. As Creo is towing Michel’s ship, Creo decides to land on a near by planet, which Silua complains that the planet is filled with malice. The planet that Michel and Creo land on is planets were political criminals and wanted criminals hide.

After Michel and Creo exit Creo’s ship, Michel encounters some of the local criminals after standing out due to him/her wearing aristocratic clothes. Michel easily disposes of the criminals that try to attack him. After Michel has realised that Creo has sold off his ship, and an angry Michel chases after Creo.

When Michel chases after Creo for making his ship scrap, the episode again shifts to Vettai and Ralph, where they have another conversation. While Vettai is playing t he piano, we get a little introduction to some of the customers of this world. While Vettai is playing the piano, Vettai explains to Ralph that it is an custom for female’s that haven’t turned eighteen to wear a mask over their face, that follow the black cross. While Vettai is explaining that this custom relates to the pope’s daughter. Ralph mentions to Vettai that there is a rumour regarding Rachael going around, and the rumour us that any men that tries to associate with her, that they will drown in a river.

As Michel is upset with Creo for selling his ship and making it scrap, Michel is forced to walk through a blizzard to tell Creo that he is upset with him. Despite Creo not being really interested in Michel being upset at him, Creo says to Michel that once he has things in his pocket, that he will protect it. As Michel is unsure what Creo means by this saying, Michel continues to walk behind Creo in the blizzard. While walking through the blizzard, Creo points to where he is walking to, to Michel. As Michel is walking in the blizzard, she/he realise that it’s becoming harder and harder for him/her to walk in the blizzard. As Michel is continuing to walk in the blizzard, Michel accidentally walks on some thin snow, and falls. As Michel is falling from his/her miss-step, Creo grabs Michel’s hand to stop him from falling to his/her death.

After Creo has saved Michel’s life, the two are seen sitting in cave, where they have started a fire, to keep themselves warm. After Creo offers Michel some strong alcohol, Michel tells Creo about what is happening in this world, as Creo pretty ignores what he isn’t interested in. Michel explains to Creo in simplistic fashion, that there were two forces that battled one another to rule the galaxy a while ago. One force was named the Aristocratic Alliance that expanded their powers after they defeated the royal family. The other force was named the New Aristocratic Fleet, which was lead by Vettai. Michel explains that the New Aristocratic Fleet emerged from the ranks of the Aristocratic Alliance. As there were two sides, they soon encountered one another, where they battled one another, to see which group would rule the galaxy. After the New Aristocratic Fleet won this battle, Vettai proclaimed him the new holy emperor. After Vettai proclaimed himself the new holy emperor, Vettai introduced a new political system that placed emphasis on aristocratic. As the Aristocratic are ranked higher than other people, the people’s Army was soon formed to oppose Vettai, which is lead by Michel.

After Michel has told Creo about how Vettai’s rule came about, Michel tells Creo that he is opposing Vettai because he/she is the only aristocratic family that will stand up for the people. After Creo hears Michel’s story, Creo insults Michel’s pride, and the two have a duel with one another. I thought that the duel between Michel and Creo was pretty well choreographed, and well animated. Despite Creo beating Michel in the duel, Creo extends his hand to help Michel up.

As Creo and Michel have been walking in the blizzard, the destination that Creo wants to arrive to is to meet some prophet. I thought that the prophet that Michel and Creo meet in this episode was interesting, as I liked the clothes that the prophet was clothed in, though I disliked the voice that the prophet had. After the prophet tells Creo his prophecy, Vettai and Ralph enter into the prophet’s chambers, where Vettai is given a prophecy also.

After some time has now passed, Creo and Michel enter into a bar, where Creo tells Michel that his prophecy is. Creo says to Michel that his prophecy is that he will make the galaxy one. After Creo tells Michel his prophecy, Vettai tells Ralph his prophecy. Vettai explains to Ralph that his prophecy involves a two headed eagle that will be born. Vettai explains that one head on the eagle is claided in metal (him), while the other head of the eagle is called the head pf love (Rachael). Also Vettai’s mentions that his prophecy also involves bringing the galaxy to one.

The episode ends with Creo bumping into a hooded Vettai, in the bar that he visited in this episode.

Overall, I thought that this episode was interesting on the fact that this episode presented how the world came about in Glass Fleet, and what Vettai’s and Creo’s fate are in future episodes. I felt that Vettai and Ralph almost meeting Creo and Michel in the prophet’s chambers later on in this episode was a forced plot element, because Vettai is mainly seen in space in this episode. I felt that this episode didn’t give any reason why Vettai decided to head to the same prophet that Michel and Creo were visiting in this episode. Despite this flaw that I felt that this episode had, I thought that this was a pretty solid episode.
